Be Part of a Community That Heals Together

At Walk Intuit Ranch, healing begins with connection—to the herd, to the land, and to each other. Our volunteers make this possible by tending to the daily rhythms of care that sustain our animals and nourish the heart of our work.

Whether you're feeding in the morning light, brushing a horse into calm, or mucking stalls with intention, your presence supports healing that ripples through our entire community.

Volunteer Roles (Orange & Costa Mesa):

  • Morning Feeding – by 8:00 AM

  • Evening Feeding – after 5:00 PM

  • Stall Maintenance – AM & PM shifts

  • Chicken Care (Orange location only)

  • Brushing & Tending Horses

Choose Your Commitment
Whether you’re available every week or just from time to time, you’re welcome here. If you commit to a weekly task, we ask that you show up consistently and on time—the horses depend on you for their meals and daily care. If a regular schedule doesn’t work for you, you’re welcome to join our flexible on-call roster. We’ll send occasional emails when extra hands are needed, and you can jump in when you’re available. Every bit of support helps.

Who Can Volunteer?

We welcome volunteers of all experience levels who want to support our healing herd.
To ensure safety for everyone, especially our animals, here are a few essential guidelines:

  • Volunteers must be 8 years or older

  • Minors (under 18) must attend orientation and volunteer with a parent or guardian

  • Parents must actively assist their child with all tasks—our animals are large, sensitive beings who require calm, attentive care

  • Younger children (under 8) cannot attend during volunteer shifts

Our Community Includes:

  • Students earning service hours (with parent/guardian assistance)

  • Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, and youth groups

  • People who love horses but can’t afford to own one

  • Anyone wanting to give back to a mission of healing

  • Individuals needing to complete community service hours

No prior horse experience is required—just a steady presence, a love for animals, and a willingness to learn.

  • “I jumped at the unique opportunity to volunteer with the W.I. herd 13 months ago! I’ve come to enjoy working with the horses through feeding, mucking stables and grooming. Chickens have been added to the barn now too! It’s very easy and flexible to sign up. The W.I. staff are very helpful and grateful for their volunteers!”
